specificalPrinciple of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for HAS has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated HAS. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between HAS (Standards or samples) and HRP-conjugated HAS with the pre-coated antibody specific for HAS. The more amount of HAS in samples, the less antibody bound by HRP-conjugated HAS. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in opposite to the amount of HAS in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
